Special Summer Classes

The Gadsden Community School for the Arts is offering special summer classes in addition to the regular summer semester.  This program is designed to introduce students to art, art history, and how art is used to learn about different cultures. These classes will be an 8 week summer program for individuals aged 8 and up.

Terry Williams-Ukulele
Monday 6:00PM -7:00PM
Fee-$122/8 – one hour group lessons including materials for ages 8 and over
Fee-$222/8 –includes lessons, materials and a new ukulele
Must pre-register by May 15th and have 10 students enroll

Ukulele will focus on cords and traditional ukulele songs for beginner to intermediate skill levels. Have fun learning the ukulele in a casual atmosphere.

Art:

Richard White – Making a Masterpiece
Tuesday 3:00PM -4:00PM
Fee-$130 for (8) 1-hour group lessons including materials for ages 8 and up
Must pre-register by May 15th and have 8 students enroll

Making a Masterpiece will focus on four artists who are considered masters in art history. The four masters of focus are Diego Garcia (Mexico), Pablo Picasso (Spain), James Denmark (United States), and Gustav Klimt (Austria). Students will create their own masterpiece in the style of one of these art icons using various found objects.
