15 EYO members selected for All-State Festival
15 members of the Etowah Youth Orchestras have been selected to participate in the Alabama All-State Orchestra Festival February 7-10. The Festival will be held in Tuscaloosa at the University of Alabama, and will conclude with a free performance by the participants on Sunday, February 10, at 1 PM.
Students selected for participation in the Festival Orchestra include Mallick Hossain, Tom Bertalan, Albert Kwan, Alan Kwan, Gillian McCary, and Brianna Ware, violin; Brian Szanny, viola; Allie Ajamoughli, cello; Kristian Latta, clarinet; Anna Lane, oboe; and Zach Whiting, percussion.
Selected for the String Sinfonietta were Emily Thomas, Joycelyn Bradford, and Mia Bertalan, violin; and Morgan Hendon, viola. "This is a great honor for our students and our program," noted EYO Music Director Mike Gagliardo. "These are the top orchestral musicians in the state. To have so many from the EYO selected for this orchestra speaks volumes about the quality of the students in this program."
