Raquel Murphy

About Raquel:
My name is Raquel Murphy and I have been playing the cello for almost six years now. I started outplaying in my 5th grade strings class. In sixth grade I joined the June Bugg Prelude Orchestra. In seventh grade I auditioned for the Etowah Youth Orchestra and got in. That season we went to Carnegie Hall, which was so much fun. In eighth grade I decided to join band. I learned how to play the trombone and started marching in the Emma Sansom Band my freshmen year. At the beginning of my tenth grade year I decided to audition for the Etowah Youth Orchestra Wind Ensemble, and I made it. Throughout all of this time I have remained an A and B student and I am involved in school organizations. I am in the Drama Club and on the Quiz Bowl team. I also played soccer my freshmen year. I enjoy everything I do and I wouldn’t give any of it up.
