10 Questions with:

Elizabeth Anderman

About Elizabeth:
First of all, my name is Elizabeth Anderman. I’m 16 years old and have been in the orchestra for 3 years. I am a junior at Gadsden High School and a member of the Tiger Band. Nancy Gardner began piano lessons with me when I was eight years old. Violin lessons began in 5th grade, but I stopped and picked up the clarinet in 6th grade. Of course, I’ve pretty much been hooked on music since I was young. Bass clarinet became my instrument of choice in seventh grade at Disque Middle School. In my 9th grade year I started in the ESWE on bass clarinet and did that for 2 years, then this year I started oboe. I plan to minor in music when I go to college. Hopefully, I will get a full scholarship for oboe to a great university.

1. How did your musical career begin?
My musical career began with piano lessons at the age of 8.

2. Who are your primary musical influences?
My piano teacher, Mrs. Gardner, and really anybody who is amazing at what they do.

3. What do you like to listen to when you aren't playing your instrument?
I listen to anything really; rap, country, metal, rock, and many more. I don’t have a favorite band or singer.

4. What are your hobbies outside of music?
I love to draw and paint. I like to sing (but only by myself). I also love to write poetry and stories. I have a large imagination for that kind of stuff. :)

5. What has been your greatest opportunity provided to you because of your musical talent?
My greatest opportunity is just the amazing people I have met. I love them all and I’m so glad that I decided to join the ESYO. I loved playing in England. That was an amazing, once in a lifetime experience.

6. What are your favorite movies or television shows?
Movies- The Notebook, A Walk To Remember, the newer Star Wars movies, and a lot more. T.V. shows- several MTV shows, Gilmore Girls, Supernatural, Charmed

7. You can have dinner with any four people, living or dead. Who would they be?
Jesus- He is the most amazing person.
Beethoven- The greatest musical composer (or I think). His music was so incredible.
Shakespeare- I love poetry and he wrote the most beautiful love stories and sonnets I have ever read.
Queen Elizabeth the 1st- She was one of the strongest women I have ever read about. She knew how she wanted to do things and didn’t hesitate to do what she felt was right.

8. What are your plans after high school?
My plans after high school are to go to college. I am not sure what I will major in but I will minor in music just to keep it in my life. I hope to go to college out of state, but if not, I will attend Alabama.

9. Who is your favorite historical figure?
Shakespeare. He was an amazing writer. I love the way he wrote sonnets and how he wrote about love. He had the greatest understanding of how to write what love was and how love was portrayed. (I am a sucker for romance)

10. Describe yourself in four words.
crazy, extroverted, poetic, unorganized
