David Green

About David:
Hi, my name is David Green.  I was born on May 10, 1989 in Gadsden, Alabama where I currently live.  I am now a sophomore at Gadsden High School where I am Co-Captain of the G.H.S. drum line.  I also participate in many clubs at school such as the Future Business Leaders of America.  My other hobbies include: soccer, hacky-sack, Martial Arts, percussion, jazz and all kinds of music, video games, and hanging out with friends.  After high school, I plan on attending a four year college with a major of computer graphics/design.

My musical career officially started in around the third grade when I got my first drum set for Christmas.  Since then, music has been a big part of my life.  I really started getting into percussion when I started beginning band in sixth grade.  After that my skills progressed.  In seventh grade, I participated in Honor Band at Gadsden State where I was 7th chair out of thirteen 9th graders.  It was a disappointment at the time, but that was just one of the many obstacles I had to climb.  My eighth grade year, I was called to play on the Gadsden High drum line.  This was one of my high points of my career.  This might have not seemed like much to other people, but I was grateful for every break I got.

All through my drumming experience, I have been in many things such as playing for churches, competitions, and even playing in garage bands.  Now I have the opportunity to go to All-State which is another big break for me as a drummer.  My goal is to get a Music Scholarship if I don't get one for any Academics.
