EYO Summer Strings Program
A Summer String Instrument Study Program for students with 1-2 years of playing experience on an orchestral string instrument.
What is the EYO Summer Strings Program?
The EYO Summer Strings Program is a comprehensive string instruction class taught in a group setting. The program is designed for students with 1-2 years experience playing an orchestral string instrument. The program gives students the opportunity to advance the skills they have already learned in their school strings classes or private lessons. The Summer Strings Program also prepares students for participation in the EYO’s June Moore Bugg Prelude Strings ensemble.
When and where does the Summer Strings Program meet?
The EYO Summer Strings Program meets at the historic Music Center at Temple Beth Israel, which is located on the corner of 8th and Chestnut Streets (761 Chestnut Street) in downtown Gadsden. Program days and times for 2017 will be announced in early May.
How much does it cost? What about instruments?
Tuition for the EYO’s Summer Strings Program is $125, and includes all music and teaching materials. Financial assistance is available for qualified applicants. Additionally, students who participate in other EYO programs (School String Orchestra Program, June Moore Bugg Prelude Strings) are eligible for a full tuition waiver.
Students are encouraged to provide their own instruments. However, instruments will be available as needed. EYO School String Orchestra Program students who played on EYO instruments during the school year will be allowed to use these instruments at no cost for this program.
How do I enroll my student?
