Celestial Dreams: The Art of Space Jewelry

October 14, 2019 to January 31, 2020

With the exhibition Celestial Dreams, world traveler Kathy Chan imagines what a space traveler in our solar system may encounter, giving prominence to the fragile oasis Earth. Using precious gems, minerals and metals, Chan crafts what her heart perceives, and imbues pendants, rings, necklaces, bracelets, earrings with symbolism and meaning. Gazing both heavenward and inward, she creates a body of work that invites introspection and affirmation.

Please join us for a reception honoring Kathy Chan and celebrating the exhibition on Tuesday, November 12 from 5 pm to 7 pm.

The exhibition is open Monday through Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm and Sunday from 1-5 pm. Admission (including Imagination Place Children’s Museum) is $8 per person. Children under 24 months and all Hardin Center members are free.

This is a touring exhibition produced by the U.S. Space and Rocket Center in conjunction with Kathy Chan.

This exhibition is sponsored by The University of Alabama in Huntsville.
